I've long since given up feeling bad about not uploading my trip pictures in a timely fashion, but I do have two I want to share.
I spent a good ten hours in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and saw most of the first floor. Though the admission fee is only a suggested amount, that $10 was some of the best $10 I've ever spent. I would have felt like a cheat not paying.
When I was at Hollins I took a Greek art course, and we spent a good deal of time on burial practices, including the grave stele.
This is a stele for a young girl's grave. I wonder how many people before me were also almost moved to tears to watch this girl gently and mournfully caress her pet birds.
These signs were around Murray Hill, the neighborhood I stayed in. I kept telling myself I needed a picture of one because they were just too funny to be believed. As it was getting dark in Soho, I saw another sign (fat lot of good it did, too) and grabbed my chance.
